This food coloring doesn’t actually include Green 3 — it’s made of water, propylene glycol, propylparaben, Yellow 5, and Blue 1. Propylene glycol is an artificial liquid that absorbs water, also used as a component in antifreeze and in artificial fog machines. The FDA states that it is “generally recognized as as safe” for use in food. That said, it’s not doing you any favors.
